Frequently asked questions.

  • Absolutely! This is exactly why we offer our free planning guide and encourage intro calls. Podcasting can feel overwhelming at first, but we break it down into manageable steps. We'll help you refine your concept, identify your target audience, plan your content structure, and create a realistic timeline. Our planning process ensures you have a solid foundation before you invest in equipment or start recording.

  • The timeline varies depending on your goals and preparation level, but typically 8-14 weeks from concept to launch. This includes planning (2-4 weeks), equipment setup and testing (1-2 week), recording your first few episodes (3-4 weeks), and collecting everything else to set up distribution channels (2-4 weeks).

Getting Started and Planning

Equipment and Technical Set up

  • A: Great question! Equipment needs vary based on your format and budget. For mixers/recorders, I recommend options ranging from the budget-friendly Zoom PodTrak P4 ($170) for basic setups, to the mid-range Zoom PodTrak P8 ($300) for more inputs, up to the professional-grade Rode RodeCaster Pro II ($700) for premium features. For microphones, excellent options include the Rode PodMic ($100) for entry-level, the Rode Procaster ($240) for mid-range, or the industry-standard Shure SM7B ($440) that we use in our studio - though I'd recommend talking with me before investing in the SM7B to ensure it's right for your setup. You'll also need microphone stands, XLR cables, and headphones. Our studio uses professional microphones and mixers, so you can always use our studio space while building your home setup.

  • Don't worry - we handle the technical complexity so you can focus on content creation. Our studio is equipped with microphones and mixers, so you get broadcast-quality sound without needing to understand the technical setup.

For your home setup, I provide specific equipment recommendations with trusted suppliers like Sweetwater and B&H Photo, plus guidance on setup and configuration. Our editing services mean you don't need to learn audio software. Many of our clients start with minimal technical knowledge. We'll teach you what you need to know and handle the rest.

  • A: This is completely normal - almost everyone feels this way initially! Our editing services can clean up mistakes, remove filler words, and enhance audio quality. We'll also provide coaching on speaking techniques and help you develop your on-air confidence. Remember, authenticity resonates more than perfection with podcast audiences.
