How to Record a Zoom Podcast

(And keep your podcast editor happy!)

Before you start the call there are some settings that need updated:

  1. Go into the Zoom desktop app and sign in.

  2. Follow the steps at the bottom of the page to turn on the proper recording settings before joining the zoom meeting. These can only be selected on the desktop app. The audio files will be saved to the computer.

  3. Once you are in the meeting, make sure the videos are in “Gallery View.”

  4. Press record when ready to begin the episode.

  5. At the end of recording everything, press the stop recording button.

  6. After the Zoom meeting ends, leave the computer on until the files are saved. This can take several minutes. It will display as a pop-up on the computer after the Zoom meeting closes.

  7. Once the files are saved the location of the files will be “…/Documents/Zoom” if you do not change the default settings. Location of the files can also be found by following the steps in item 2 above.
